Full Job Description

TableTop Gaming is a new worker cooperative with an online store specializing in the sale of board games and collectible/trading card games. We are seeking a Store Associate to help run a physical storefront in Syracuse, New York. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with visitors and handling purchases.
  • Communicate with the Store Manager regarding equipment and inventory needs.
  • Coordinating with packers/shippers for sending inventory externally.
  • Voicing your availability to the Store Manager to assist with the creation of the store’s operational hours.
  • Assisting event management in running events (e.g. card game tournaments) and promotions.
  • Opening and closing the site.
  • Frequently aiding in lightly cleaning the location.
  • Understanding proper usage of any and all POS equipment and services.
  • Assisting in training other Store Associates, once properly experienced.

Qualifications

  • Good computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in English. Being multilingual is a benefit.
  • Passionate about worker cooperatives.
  • Preference for night (after 5 pm) and/or weekend work is a bonus.

Full Job Description

TableTop Gaming is a new worker cooperative with an online store specializing in the sale of board games and collectible/trading card games. We are seeking a Store Manager to manage a physical storefront in Syracuse, New York. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with visitors and handling purchases.
  • Coordinating with the Product Inventory Handler to ensure inventory is consistently available at the store.
  • Coordinating with the Locations Manager to ensure necessary equipment is available at the store.
  • Coordinating with packers/shippers for sending inventory externally.
  • Democratically and collaboratively managing a schedule for on-site workers who will aid in running the business, including operational hours.
  • Collaborating and communicating with our remote, asynchronous team in running events (e.g. card game tournaments) and promotions. Event Management will principally be responsible for running events, however.
  • Opening and closing the site.
  • Frequently aiding in lightly cleaning the location.
  • Understanding proper usage of any and all POS equipment and services
  • Training of any other Store Managers or Store Associates

TableTop Gaming is a new worker cooperative with an online store specializing in the sale of board games and collectible/trading card games. We are seeking a Store Manager to assist in running board game and TCG/CCG events at a physical storefront in Syracuse, New York. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with Store Associates, the Store Manager, the Board Game Specialist, and the TCG/CGG Specialist to identify popular board game/TCG/CCG trends in the New York area.
  • Providing detailed planning for the hosting and maintenance of events (e.g. card game tournaments) at the physical storefront in Syracuse, NY.
  • Collaborating and communicating with our remote, asynchronous team in running events (e.g. card game tournaments) and promotions.
  • Hosting and overseeing these events and promotions in real time at the physical storefront.
  • Collaborating with Marketing Associate(s) to proactively promote these events.
  • Interacting with visitors and handling purchases.
  • Coordinating with the Product Inventory Handler to ensure inventory is consistently available at the store.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  • Strong logo design and branding skills.
  • Skill set in both print and digital assets.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passionate about worker cooperatives.
  • Previous experience in the board games and/or the collectible cards industries is a plus. 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva is a plus.
  • Social media experience is a plus.
  • Advertising and copywriting experience is a plus.
  • Experience in retouching photos is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ascertaining the best methods to handle owner distributions.
  • Organizing and handling company documents in Google Drive and otherwise.
  • Documenting new hire information for onboarding purposes.
  • Determining benefits which we can provide to worker owners, if possible in the context of our revenue and expenses.
  • Spearheading writing up new, democratically-decided policies as needed.

Trading / Collectible Card Game Specialist

Full Job Description

TableTop Gaming is a new worker cooperative with an online store specializing in the sale of board games and collectible/trading card games. We are seeking a Trading Card Game/Collectible Card Game (TCG/CCG) Specialist to aid in identifying the most popular/trending card games at a given time. 


Responsibilities include:

  • Handles understanding what the most popular/trending card games are, so we have a better understanding of which games to acquire as inventory for resale.
  • Provides research for which card games are up and coming, so that we may get ahead of the curve on any trends. 
  • Identifies games which have a built-in / cult following of people who will purchase new iterations/expansions for that game.
  • Monitors Kickstarter and similar sites for popular selections, and identifies if wholesale purchases can be made.
  • Helps identify any indie publishers without traditional distribution who we could reach out to.
  • Keeps a research document that is open and accessible to any member of the coop at any time.
  • May at times be asked to participate in or provide insight on a card game for review, for the purpose of a blog, video, or item description posting.
  • Helps the Product Inventory Manager workshop collections of specific card games, enabling convenient grouping of inventory on our website.
  • Helps with proper tagging and categorizations for individual card games.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about board games and worker cooperatives.
  • Previous experience in the board games industry is preferred.
  • Experience with market trends, especially in relation to board games.
  • Good computer and communication skills.
